A Fresh Set of Eyes That Actually Helps - Totty Remodel
“I really appreciated how much time Richard took to understand what we’re actually trying to build before giving advice.
He helped us see what we’re doing well, where we can tighten things up, and gave us practical ideas we can actually use. We’re continuing to work with him as we grow the company, and I really value having someone outside the day-to-day look at things with a different perspective.”
Who will you be working with?
Richard Adams has spent over 20 years building, scaling, and leading companies — from engineering leadership roles at organizations like Apple/Beats and numerous start-ups, to founding and growing ventures of his own. Twice, that's ended in an acquisition: most recently, a company acquired outright by S.C. Johnson. Earlier, in the UK, Richard co-founded a company he pitched and secured an offer for on the BBC's Dragons' Den (UK’s Shark Tank) and then, fielded competing offers from two industry players and chose the stronger deal, ultimately selling to Brulines. Along the way he learned the same lesson at every scale: complexity is the enemy of progress, and the businesses that win are the ones that clear it out early.
Now based in Visalia, Richard brings that experience home to the Central Valley through Sound Futures, offering hands-on, friendly business mentoring and consulting to local independent business owners. To contractors, professional practices, health and wellness, restaurants, specialty stores and more.
Whether it's a one-time Business Tune-Up or ongoing monthly support, Richard works alongside owners to spot the operational leaks, workflow friction, and administrative drag that's quietly costing them time and money — and fixes it.
